The Texas Color Guard Circuit State Championships events that are held at Reed Arena are right around the corner and the Bryan Viking HS Band and College Station HS Band have the privilege of hosting again this year! Over 150 schools from all over Texas, thousands of spectators, and many directors and judges come from all over the state and country to our event, and it has been noted as the BEST championships event by many of our guests, who have been to events of the same nature, across the country. This is because the students and parents who work have been awesome in helping make it run smoothly in the past, and we expect this year to be even better!
TCGC will donate $5,000 to each of our band programs for providing the volunteers for this event. We MUST have 100% participation in order to receive our portion of the donation!
We need all band students and parents to sign up to work at these events. Please note, if you are required to work community service hours for other organizations, this event counts! We will have a mandatory orientation session Friday evening, March 31st at Reed Arena for all volunteers to learn more specifics about their duties assigned.
The TCGC Winter Guard Championship is on Saturday, April 1st, and the TCGC Indoor Percussion championship is on Saturday, April 8th. There will be 5 shifts at 4 hours each each day and many stations to be covered. Once you sign up for a shift, we will assign you to a station where we need you. If you have worked these events before and have a preference of a station or if you want to stay in one station all day, please email me as soon as possible so I can mark it down. You WILL be able to watch your child perform so please don't stress about a conflict.
All volunteers will receive a free t-shirt that they will need to wear when working, and the added bonus is that you can wear this t-shirt and get in free both days to watch the performances! PLEASE ADD YOUR T-SHIRT SIZE INTO THE “STU ID” BOX WHILE SIGNING UP!
Please let me know if you have any questions. Click the links below to sign up for EACH day, As always, alumni, other family and friends can work too- no small children please- must be at least 12 years old to work.
We would like to have the volunteer lists filled and solidified by the time we go away for spring break so we can order the t-shirts in time.
The Aggie Flag fundraiser brought in almost $24,000 to the Cougar Band program in 2016. CSHS had 35 students deliver a total of 1,000 flags each Aggie home game and we hope to grow this number to over 1,100 flags next season. Our new 50/50 agreement with AMCHS band, new housing and business development, and constant growth of support from the community should set us up for a record fundraiser in 2017! In order for this to happen though, we need your help.
The success of the Aggie Flag fundraiser lies with the parents and students who commit and participate. We need parent and student input on your ability to assist with flag subscription sales and flag deliveries for the 2017 football season. We need to start planning now so we can have everyone and everything ready for the first Aggie home football game on Saturday, September 9th.
The funds raised form this Fundraiser will help fund senior band and guard scholarships, help support band camp scholarships and and other similar actives, off set Spring Trip costs for travelers, and many other things.
Please help us by taking this short survey.
Parents, Students, and Staff,
Recently, we have been given a very unique fundraising opportunity by Texasliving magazine. We will be selling annual subscriptions to a Texas based magazine that is currently enjoyed by more than 60,000 people every month.
As you are aware, our program has many financial needs and currently does several fundraisers during the year in attempt to meet these needs. We believe this single fundraiser provides us the opportunity to raise more money than all our other fundraisers combined. WE NEED YOUR HELP to make it happen! Thankfully, this should also be our easiest fundraiser.
It is specifically designed around the use of social media and text messaging. Everything can be done from your phone!
We are excited to get started and our campaign will run from Wednesday February 22nd through Monday March 27th. Over the course of the month I will send different social media messages for you to copy and paste as a tweet, post, or text. The messages we post should all include our schools unique page for your sponsors to subscribe. Here is the link: www.txlfundraising.com/cshs
We will receive more than half of every subscription sold. We need all students to participate and sell the goal of 15 each. If every student reaches this goal, the band will raise over $40,000! Texasliving also has a special Schlitterbahn promotion and will reward any student who attains 20 subscriptions with 4 tickets to the New Braunfels park!
To get started now, just copy this message, and text it to your closest family and friends!
Hello! I’m raising funds for the CSHS band. We’re selling subscriptions to Texasliving Magazine. I have a goal of selling 15 and your support would be much appreciated. It’s simple! Just click this link: www.txlfundraising.com/cshs and subscribe online. Be sure to write my name, ___ ___ in the student’s name box and I will get the credit. THANK YOU!
Please remember, this fundraiser will only be successful if we have your help and participation! And all we need is for you to post and send messages.
Let’s raise $40,000!
On February the 25th we will be hosting our annual Night Percussion Concert. This is a fantastic event that showcases our talented percussion students performing various solo’s, small ensembles, and large ensembles.
Something New: This year we are doing something new and will be showcasing our brass and woodwind players on a Chamber Night Music Concert of February the 28th. We will highlight large brass and woodwind ensembles in both the concert band and symphonic bands. Along with that, we will also showcase many smaller ensembles and soloists at this event. Both the Night of Percussion and Chamber Night Concert and more casual events and families are welcome to come and go as they please. After we return from TMEA, we will put together a concert order for both events and publish the program on our Facebook Page and Website. Stay tuned for more details.
