The inaugural summer March-A-Thon will be the kickoff to our 2017 marching season and, we hope, the largest fundraiser of the year!
Funds raised by the CSHS Band & Guard Boosters are used for competition entry fees, meals, uniforms and uniform upkeep, transportation, band trailer maintenance, marching band props, clinicians and techs, special guest band instructors and judges, scholarships, special instrument purchases, and so much more that goes on behind the scenes to keep our band and guard marching and performing throughout the school year.
Please join us Saturday, August 19th for a parade from 9-11am at Castlegate Park in College Station!
For $150, anyone can sponsor a mini-concert either at Castlegate Park or anywhere on our parade route, which is the four loops that surround Castlegate Park – Ravenstone, Rockcliffe, Kendal Green, and Rockingham. Friends & neighbors can go in to sponsor a concert, and if you have a friend on the parade route you can even have it front of their house! We will recognize all concert sponsors at the time and in our concert programs throughout the year!

On Friday, Sept. 15th the Cougars are scheduled to play a football game at St. Thomas HS in Houston. St. Thomas is a private school in Houston and they played us last year here at CSHS. In May I did some research and learned that the stadium at St. Thomas has no visitor stands whatsoever. This also means, no restrooms or other facilities to support a crowd. I light of learning this, we have decided that we will not take the full band to this game; only the drumline, captains and section leaders will be going. We will play during the game and support the team, but not perform at halftime. I might be looking to add a few more trumpets and will let students now about that. Sorry about this and thanks for your flexibility.
Also, there is a possibility of a similar event happening on Oct. 27th in Waco. This game is right before our UIL Area Contest in Houston. There may be an adjustment to this game as well. Please stay tuned.
