The College Station High School Cougar Marching Band is the largest spirit organization at College Station High School. The 210 member Cougar Band performs at all high school football games, pep rallies, and the annual Bryan College Station Christmas Parade.
In addition, the Cougar Band participates in three to five marching contests per year. These contests are generally held throughout the month of October and the first week of November (on state years). Since its inaugural year in 2012, the Cougar Band has represented Region 8 at the UIL Area D Marching Contest (2012-2015) and the UIL Area E Marching Contest (2016-Present).
The College Station High School Symphonic Band is under the direction of Mr. Eric Eaks.
The Symphonic Band performs music at the highest degree of difficulty. Performances include UIL, one or more invitational festivals, two or more spring concerts, and special events. A one-hour section rehearsal is scheduled weekly from January-May. In addition, extra rehearsals and clinics are occasionally scheduled during competition time. Students must participate in marching band in order to be eligible for placement in the Symphonic Band.
The College Station High School Concert Band is under the direction of Mr. Jon Seale.
Students in the Concert Band participate in UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest and/or one or two festivals per school year. Additionally the concert band performs three to five concerts each year.
The College Station High School Jazz Band is becoming one of the most popular musical organizations at CSHS. Membership is through competitive audition.
In general the ensemble roster includes 5-6 saxophones, 2-4 trombones, 3-5 trumpets, lead guitar, bass guitar and 2-3 other rhythm players. The Jazz Ensemble performs numerous concerts each year and also performs in two, or three competitive festivals each year.
